TMC MPs want pre-poll alliance with Congress
Kolkata, March 11: Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's decision to go it alone in Lok Sabha elections is facing opposition from a large section of her party MPs, says a DC report.

Reportedly, the legislators fear that the Left Front could benefit from TMC's decision. The MPs want "Didi" to strike a pre-poll alliance with the Congress.

The state is set to witness a contest between the Congress, Trinamul Congress, Left Front and the BJP. The relatively new entrant, AAP, has hardly any role to play in the state's elections.

Mamata has the support of activist Anna Hazare who has been endorsing the WB chief minister for the post of prime minister.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha polls the TMC-SUCI-Congress combine had polled 45.67 per cent of the vote, while the Left, despite its rout, polled 43.3. per cent.
