TMC MP Sougata Roy Vows to Amend Past Mistakes in Ariadaha

The meeting was prompted by videos showing local TMC leader Jayant Singh or his associates torturing people. Roy claimed neither the party nor civic authorities knew about Singh's unauthorised construction of a large house in the area. "We had no clue that Jayant had built such a big house," he said.

Mitra added that the police had been instructed to take strict action against Singh. "The police have been asked to book Jayant under strict laws. I have asked the police to give Jayant the strictest punishment," Mitra stated. This directive followed the surfacing of a two-year-old video clip showing people torturing an individual in a club in Ariadaha.

Last week, a disturbing video emerged showing individuals holding a person's legs and hands while suspending her in the air, with two others beating him with sticks. This incident allegedly occurred at a club in Ariadaha, raising serious concerns about local leadership conduct.
