Tirumala Devotees Can Now Enjoy Laddus After Successful Purification Rituals

Concerns about the purity of laddus at the Tirumala temple have been addressed, according to J Shyamala Rao, executive officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). A four-hour purification ritual was conducted to ensure the sanctity of the prasadams. This ritual aimed to appease Lord Venkateswara Swamy following allegations of using animal fats in making the laddus.

Purification Rituals Restore Tirumala Laddu Sanctity

The quality of these laddus became a national issue after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused the previous YSRCP government of using substandard ingredients and animal fats. However, YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has refuted these allegations. "The holy ritual was a sin-free ritual. As part of it Vastu Suddhi and Kumbhajala Samprokshana were carried out by the ritwiks priests," Rao stated in a press release.

Restoration of Laddu Sanctity

To restore the sanctity of laddu prasadams and other offerings, a Shanti Homam was performed at the Yagashala ritual site from 6 am to 10 am. This ceremony followed the Vaikhanasa Agama principles to eliminate negative influences and ensure the well-being of Srivari deity devotees. Temple priests sprinkled holy water in the potu kitchen where laddus are prepared and on their ingredients.

Venugopala Deekshitulu, a chief priest, and Agama advisor Mohanarangacharyulu mentioned that several rituals were conducted on Monday morning. These included Sankalpam, Vishwaksena Aradhana, Punyahavachanam, Vastu Homam, Kumbha Pratista, and Panchagavya Aradhana. After completing Purnahuti, Kumbha Prokshana was performed, followed by offering Visesha Naivedyam.

Devotees' Assurance

Rao assured devotees that they can now dismiss any concerns regarding laddu prasadams and naivedyams. The TTD stated in a press release, "Henceforth, the laddu prasadams and naivedyams are free from doshas flaws and the devotees can leave aside their doubts if any." Additionally, devotees were encouraged to recite Kshama Mantras during deeparadhana rituals at home.

The temple's efforts aim to reassure devotees about the purity and sanctity of offerings made at Tirumala. This comprehensive purification process highlights TTD's commitment to maintaining religious practices and addressing concerns raised by devotees.
