Bengaluru, Nov 10 Karnataka braces up for a tense day as the state sponsored Tipu Jayanti celebrations get underway today. The Bharatiya Janata Party will observe today as a Black Day. Preventive arrests have been made to ensure that the day passes off peacefully.

Prohibitory orders are in place at Bengaluru city, Mangaluru, Kodagu, Chitradurga and Shivamogga. No processions will be allowed and the police have warned of strict action if any person or organisation tries to disrupt peace.
Karnataka will resemble a fortress today. The police have already made 2,000 preventive arrests. There would be 60,000 police including 15,000 home guards on duty. Personnel of the Karnataka state reserve police, the district armed force, Rapid Action Force, Sahastra Seema Bal and CISF would also stand guard all through the day.
