Tigress dies in Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal

Bhopal, April 19: An old tigress - Basni - died due to age-related ailments at the Van Vihar National Park here.

Bansi was suffering from paralysis since November 2015 and yesterday the feline suffered heart attack following which she passed away, an official release said today.

She was 13-and-a-half years old. She was brought to the Van Vihar when she was just three months old in January 2003 from Karmai village in neighbouring Raisen district, it said.

After necessary formalities, her last rites were performed in the park itself.
