Three Individuals, Including a Child, Swept Away in Separate River Incidents in Uttarakhand
In Uttarakhand, three individuals, including a child, were swept away in rivers during two separate events on Sunday, according to police reports. Among the victims were two young men from Delhi who drowned while bathing in the Ganga river at Shivpuri near Rishikesh. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) initiated a search operation after being alerted, but the duo remains missing.

Akash and Sandeep, both 23 years old and residents of Delhi's Okhla, arrived in Shivpuri early Sunday morning with friends Sachin, Rajiv Chaudhary, and Mahesh. They ventured to the riverbank for a bath when they were caught by strong currents. Police have informed their families about the unfortunate incident.
Child Swept Away in Kosi River
In another tragic event, a 12-year-old boy was carried away by the Kosi river near Puchhdi village in Nainital's Ramnagar at 4 pm. The child was bathing with his father and two siblings when he was overcome by the swift waters. Upon receiving the report, an SDRF team launched a search operation and successfully retrieved the child's body from the river.
The incidents highlight the dangers posed by river currents in the region. Authorities continue to search for Akash and Sandeep while urging caution for those visiting riverbanks. The community mourns these losses as efforts persist to locate the missing individuals.
