Three dead in Uttarakhand after cloudburst

), July 31: Three people were killed and three were missing in a cloudburst today here in Tehri.

Several houses were destroyed and some were washed out following the cloudburst.

The search is on for the missing people, District Magistrate Yugal Kishore Pant said.

Rescue teams have reached the spot and rescue operations are under way.

Uttarakhand has been on high alert since June ever since the state experienced heavy rainfall this year.

This incident comes to light a day after a massive landslide in Pune claimed the lives of up to 17 people, while many were still said to be trapped under debris.
