Tamil Nadu: Three boys drown in village reservoir

Cuddalore, Aug 20: Three minor boys drowned in a small reservoir at Edai Sithai village while taking a bath, police said.

The three, all fifth standard students, had gone to the reservoir yesterday to take a bath, they said.

Their bodies were fished out today by fire service personnel and police. Panchayat president R Venugopal alleged that the boys had drowned as the depth of the reservoir had increased due to illegal quarrying by the sand mafia He demanded that action be taken against the sand mafia.
