“Those Responsible Will Be Brought to Justice,” Rajnath Singh Vows After Delhi Car Explosion

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday conveyed deep grief over the fatal car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort and vowed that the culprits behind the "tragic incident" would be brought to justice.

His remarks came during the inaugural session of the 'Delhi Defence Dialogue' in the national capital, where he began his address by paying tribute to the victims of the powerful blast that killed 12 people and injured several others.

Government's Firm Stand on Accountability

"First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt condolences to all those who lost their lives in the tragic incident that occurred in Delhi yesterday," Singh said. He assured citizens that the government was taking the matter seriously and would not allow the perpetrators to escape the law.

"I want to assure my countrymen that those responsible for this will be brought to justice," he stated, reaffirming the Centre's commitment to transparency. "The country's leading investigative agencies are conducting a thorough inquiry," he added.

Investigations Underway

The Defence Minister emphasized that the probe would be detailed and the findings shared publicly. "Those responsible will not be spared under any circumstances," he said, calling for patience as teams from multiple central agencies continue to coordinate with the Delhi Police.

Officials confirmed that the investigation teams were closely reviewing CCTV footage, communication records, and digital data to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the explosion.

Key Leads from CCTV and Digital Data

According to investigators, the suspected car was captured on several CCTV cameras entering and leaving the Red Fort parking zone shortly before the blast. The driver, believed to be the prime suspect, appeared to be alone in the footage.

Authorities are now focusing on tracing the vehicle's route towards Daryaganj. More than 100 CCTV clips from the surrounding areas, including nearby toll plazas, are being examined to determine the full path of the car before it detonated.

Security Tightened Around Red Fort

The powerful explosion near the iconic Red Fort complex sent shockwaves across central Delhi, prompting a massive security deployment. Barricades have been reinforced, and additional patrols are monitoring key locations in and around the city's heritage zone.

Officials said forensic teams continue to examine the remains of the vehicle to identify the nature of the explosives used, while investigators pursue possible links to previous terror activities.
