This Labrador is a mother to nine orphaned ducklings

This Labrador will win your heart. This pet pooch, named Fred has become mother to nine orphaned yellow ducklings. Fred took over the job after the mother of the ducklings was eaten up by a Fox.

The family that lives in Mountfitchet Castle in Essex noticed the ducklings alone and worried what might happen to them. Fred then stepped in and took up the role of mother.
The family which is into rescuing animals said that it was typical of Fred to step in.

The ducks have bonded very well with Fred. In fact Fred is always followed by the ducklings even when he goes swimming.

This is however not the first time that Fred has bonded with a rescue animal. Last year the family had rescued a squirrel an Fred played the perfect mother. The squirrel named Fleabag spent a good six months recovering and Fred was by his side.
