Ayodhya: Lights Worth At Least Rs 50 Lakh Installed On Ram Path, Bhakti Path Stolen
Police reported the theft of 3,800 bamboo and 36 projector lights valued at over Rs 50 lakh from Bhakti Path and Ram Path in Ayodhya. These areas are known for their high security. The complaint was lodged on August 9 by a representative from Yash Enterprises and Krishna Automobiles, the firms responsible for installing the lights under a contract with the Ayodhya Development Authority.
Details of the Theft

Initially, 6,400 bamboo lights were installed on Rampath and 96 projector lights on Bhakti Path. All lights were accounted for until March 19. However, during an inspection on May 9, it was discovered that some lights were missing. The complaint stated that around 3,800 bamboo lights and 36 projector lights had been stolen by unknown individuals.
The firm realised the theft in May but delayed filing the complaint until August 9. Shekhar Sharma, a representative of the firm, confirmed this in the complaint. "Till now around 3,800 bamboo lights and 36 projector lights have been stolen by some unknown thieves," he said.
Investigation Underway
The police have registered an FIR and are investigating the matter. The theft occurred despite the high-security measures in place in Ayodhya. Authorities are working to identify the culprits and recover the stolen items.
Ayodhya underwent significant refurbishment ahead of the January 22 Ram temple consecration ceremony. The installation of these lights was part of this major project aimed at enhancing the city's infrastructure and aesthetics.
The incident has raised concerns about security lapses in such a sensitive area. Local authorities are expected to review and possibly tighten security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The investigation continues as police gather more information and follow leads to solve this case. The community awaits further updates on this significant theft.
