Even as the hunt for fugitive preacher Amritpal Singh is on, the Punjab Police on Tuesday evening released a few pictures of 'Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh.

"There are several pictures of Amritpal Singh in different attires. We are releasing all of these pictures. I request you display them so that people can help us to arrest him in this case," said Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill.

The Punjab Police have requested the public to help them in his arrest.

Addressing a press conference, Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill said Amirtpal Singh was helped by four people and they have been booked under the Arms Act. He said that the prime accused Singh has not been arrested yet.

Meanwhile, a video has surfaced on social media in which Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, who is on the run after Punjab cops launched a massive operation to nab him on Saturday, is spotted sitting in the front seat of a car at a toll plaza. The footage reportedly recorded on Saturday surfaced online on Tuesday. He is seen travelling in a Brezza. The fugitive preacher changed cars before changing his attire, sources informed NDTV.

"The Brezza car, in which Amritpal Singh fled, has been recovered by the Police. He was helped by four people," Gill said.

Police on Saturday had launched a major crackdown against Amritpal Singh and members of 'Waris Punjab De.' The elusive preacher himself, however, gave the police a slip and escaped their dragnet when his cavalcade was intercepted in the Jalandhar district.

The cops on Monday claimed that the Khalistani supporter was planning to form a milita called 'Anandpur Khalsa Fauj' after they found AKF (Anandpur Khalsa Fauj) inscribed on bullet proof jackets and weapons recovered during the operation. The initials were given to the preacher's close associates, the cops told PTI. The police are checking the source of funds for Waris Punjab De. Gill said the outfit has received foreign funding through hawala in small amounts to bank accounts.

The Punjab Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) Sukhchain Singh Gill said police have a strong suspicion of an "ISI angle" and foreign funding against those arrested in this case, and further investigations are underway.

Last month, Amritpal and his supporters, some of them brandishing swords and guns, broke through barricades and barged into the Ajnala Police Station on the outskirts of the Amritsar city, clashing with police for the release of one of Amritpal's aide. An FIR dated February 24 stands registered against followers of 'Waris Punjab De', an organisation headed by Amritpal, for the attack on Ajnala Police Station, police had said.

So far, the cops have arrested 120 people who have links with Amritpal Singh.
