The importance of 3 Transport Nagars in Yamuna City

In a step to promote industries, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is planning to set up three Transport Nagars in Yamuna City.

All three Transport Nagars will be around Jewar Airport as it is set to become the second-largest airport in Asia and the fourth-largest in the world upon completion.

With huge investments coming in, the YEIDA wants to construct Transport Nagars to provide entire logistics solutions under one roof. It will come up at - Sector-23, Sector-33 Industrial Township and one near the proposed Film City. The biggest among the three will be the one at Sector-23.

The authorities are working on the detailed project report on Sector-23 Transport Nagar which will come up on 560 acres of land and the work on creating a network of internal roads is in progress. Apart from space for truck parking, it will have shops to buy spare parts and maintenance shops.

"The biggest film city of the country, to be built in Yamuna City, will also have a transport hub. This transport hub will be in Sector-21. 72 acres of land has been identified for this," said YEIDA CEO Arun Veer Singh.

The Importance of Transport Nagars
A Transport Nagar is a designated place where transportation and logistics activities take place. These are usually built on the outskirts of the cities.

In this place, various services related to transportation, such as parking, fueling, maintenance, and repair of vehicles, loading and unloading of goods, and warehousing take place. For cities, having transport nagar is important as it reduces reducing traffic congestion in the city center by providing a hub for the distribution of goods and cargo to various destinations.

This would help make the logistics service in the region smoother and lead to depreciation in the prices of the transport service prices. In short, it provides the entire logistics solutions under one roof.

In addition to it, the transport nagars will create plenty of jobs for localities such as driving, loading, and unloading. Also, the YEIDA's planned transport nagar injected new life into the real estate market as land rates have gone up.
