Thane: Stray dog sexually assaulted by 18-year old security guard

Thane, Sept 28: In a bizarre incident in Thane, an 18-year old security guard of Lokpuram complex was found sodomizing a stray dog in his cabin last Friday. Eye witnesses claimed that the man took the bitch in his cabin, switched off the lights and closing the door.

Disgusted at the act, a resident of the complex informed the animal NGO-Plants and Animal Lovers Society (PALS). The complainnat said,"By the time the NGO members were here, a mob of society members had already cornered the accused, ensuring that he doesn't escape. The frightened dog fled the scene."

The members of the NGO immediately called the police after the residents of the complex cornered the guard. He was taken to the Vartak Nagar police station where a case of sodomy was registered under section 377. This is a non-bailable offence.

The incident has left the residents shocked. "This incident would not have been brought to light if not for the alertness of the people in the area.

If an innocent dog can be made victim to such cruelty by the very person designated to keep the members of the society safe, how safe can the women as well as men in the society be? This is a reminder to every individual to be on guard, not only for their own protection, but also to safeguard others around them, especially those without a voice of their own," said Aditi Nair, the chairman of PAL.
