Thane: 1 killed, 2 injured in furnace explosion

Thane, Aug 9: One worker was killed and two others were seriously injured when a furnace in an industrial unit exploded in Kudavali MIDC at Murbad taluka here. The incident took place on Sunday. Due to the blast, molten iron from the furnace fell on the workers.

One of them, Ramesh Gullusingh Kushwah (35), died on the spot, while two others received serious burn injuries, police said today.

A case has been registered against company's owner Vishal Bushan and two others under relevant section sections of IPC including 304 A (causing death by negligence), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), police said, adding no arrest has been made in connection with the incident yet.
