Three soldiers including officer martyred in 'fidayeen' attack at Kupwara, J&K
The camp is situated around 100 kilometres away from Uri where terrorists had staged a major attack on September 17, 2016 in which 19 soldiers were killed.
Three soldiers were martyred while five others injured after militants launched a fidayeen attack on an Army camp at the Chowkibal Panzgam area in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. Two terrorists were killed in the encounter. Combing operations are underway.

An officer too has been killed in the attack. He has been identified as Captain Ayush. The soldiers who were martyred are subedar Bhoop Singh and N K Ramanna. Those injured are N K Girish, Mukesh Desai, N K Rishi, V V Reddy and Prakash Shinde.
The five injured however received non-fatal injuries and have been airlifted to Srinagar for treatment.

The terrorists had launched a suicide attack on an Army camp early Thursday morning. The attack comes just a day after an intelligence report suggested that over 100 terrorists were waiting to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir. The report also said that Pakistan had moved these terrorists to a launch pad in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The terrorists were meant to aid the protestors causing the Kashmir unrest.
