New Delhi, Apr 19: A clash between the residents of two adjoining blocks sparked tension in east Delhi's Trilokpuri, prompting the deployment of a large police contingent in the area which had seen communal trouble in October of last year.
"Clashes erupted between residents of Blocks 26 and 27. It all started after some youths entered into an argument over parking, which spiralled into street fights.
"A large contingent of policemen in anti-riot gear has been deployed in the area and the situation is under control," said a senior police official.
Some of those injured in the stone pelting that accompanied the hostilities last evening were taken to a nearby hospital.
Senior police officials, including Joint Commissioner (Eastern Range), Sanjay Beniwal, and DCP (East), Ajay Kumar, are present in the area to monitor the situation.
The communal tension in the area in October last year had led to clashes which left around 35 people injured.
