Tension grips Aligarh after youths harass girl

, Sept 14: Just days after

witnessed one of the worst communal clashes, tension prevailed in Aligarh on Saturday, when three motorcycle- borne youths allegedly harassed a girl.

The police said that the girl was harassed by three boys, who were on a bike and accosted her. The girl was on her way to college when the incident took place. She raised an alaram as the youths tried to harass her.

People, who were close by, nabbed one of the boys, while the others took off. There was tension in the area after the incident as leaders of different saffron organisations reached there.

Senior district officials too rushed the spot and nabbed another culprit.

Police officials said that a strict vigil was being miantained in the area and other surrounding areas.

Uttar Pradesh is currently on its toes after a series of communal clashes broke out in Muzaffarnagar last week after a similar incident was reported. The clash has left 47 people dead, according to reports.
