Temperatures up in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Jun 10: After a lull temperature rose in western, southern and coastal parts of Odisha today.
The mercury touched 42.9 degree C at Hirakud today, up from 40.1 degrees yesterday, while the other western Odisha towns of Bolangir recorded 42 degrees, Sambalpur 41.8 degrees, Bhawanipatna 41.5 degrees, Jharsuguda 41.4 degrees, Titlagarh 40.5 degress and Sundergarh 40 degrees c, an IMD report said. In coastal belt Bhubaneswar, which recorded 34.9 degrees C yesterday, was substantially hotter at 38.2 degrees today.

The city also experienced humidity of 87 per cent. Some parts of the state have however, received rainfall. While 38 mm rainfall was recorded at Keonjhar, Angul received 17 mm rainfall, followed by 15 mm rainfall at Balasore and Chandbali, an IMD report said.
IMD predicted rain and thunder shower in southern and interior parts of Odisha. It had earlier predicted that monsoon would hit Odisha in the second week of June.
