Veteran Telugu comedian Kallu Chidambaram passes away
Hyderabad, Oct 20: Veteran Telugu comedian Kolluru Chidambaram, popularly known as 'Kallu' Chidambaram died on Monday. 67-year old actor who acted in more than 300 films passed away in a Vizag hospital on Monday following illness.
The actor is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters. Born on August 8, 1948, Chidambaram was a native of Vizianagaram.
A retired civil engineer with Visakhapatnam Port Trust, he acted in movies like "Kallu" (his debut film), "Money", "Chanti", "Kondaveeti Donga", "Ammoru" and many more.
Despite an eye problem, he made a name for himself in the Telugu film industry using the disadvantage to his growth in the movies.
His performance in "Kallu" earned him the state government's coveted Nandi film award.
He founded the Sakala Kalakarula Samaikya in 2009 to work for the interests of artists.
