Understanding the Teacher Eligibility Test

The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is crucial for those aspiring to become government school teachers. This qualification is mandatory for recruitment in government schools across Telangana. The Department of School Education conducts this exam twice annually.

This year’s first phase was held in May, with about 235,000 candidates participating. Approximately 109,000 candidates passed this phase. However, fewer candidates are expected for the January session due to recent District Selection Committee (DSC) exams.

The TET serves as an essential step in ensuring qualified teachers are recruited into government schools, maintaining educational standards across Telangana's public education system.
