Telangana: Sonia Gandhi to address first poll rally after division

, April 16: Sonia Gandhi, the Congress President will address a rally in the Karimnagar district of Telangana, just months after its division.

The rally would be held in Ambedkar stadium, the very same place, where the Congress President had promised to form a separate state in 2009.

In fact, this would be her first rally here after the division and Congressmen are banking upon Sonia's rally as the party is weak here as compared to the TRS and the TDP-BJP alliance. Interestingly, the rally was strategically organised, giving a scope for the Congress to remind the people of Telangana that it was Congress that made the dream come true.

However, Congress is still to face strong opposition by the independent Chandrashekhar Rao-led TRS and the TDP-BJP alliance. Nevertheless, experts believe that TDP-BJP may steal the show.
