Telangana Group 1 Exams Confirmed for October 21-27 Amid Aspirants' Postponement Demands
Telangana's Chief Secretary, Santhi Kumari, announced that preparations are complete for the Group 1 services mains exams scheduled from October 21 to 27. Despite this, many candidates have protested, demanding a change in the exam dates. Some aspirants approached Telangana Congress President B Mahesh Kumar Goud, while others sought assistance from BRS Working President K T Rama Rao.

Protests and Concerns
Protesters gathered at Gandhi Nagar park, holding placards urging the rescheduling of the exams. The police later dispersed them. Aspirants expressed concerns about the exam schedule and the impact of certain Government Orders (GOs) to Mahesh Kumar Goud. They highlighted previous delays and paper leaks under the BRS regime.
The Chief Secretary conducted a video conference with officials, including state public service commission chairperson Mahendar Reddy and district collectors. She stated that 31,383 candidates will take the exams at 46 centres across Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal-Malkajigiri districts. Security measures are in place to ensure smooth conduct.
Government's Stance
Rama Rao was informed by aspirants that the government is proceeding with the exams despite 22 pending court cases. They also raised issues regarding reservation injustices. The opposition party shared these concerns on X. Rama Rao assured aspirants of BRS's support and legal assistance.
Mahesh Kumar Goud promised to address these issues with the Chief Minister and relevant authorities. He emphasised the need for a transparent recruitment process and committed to resolving challenges faced by aspirants. "We're committed to resolving these challenges and ensuring justice for all aspirants," he stated on X.
District Collectors will oversee the exams directly, with Police Commissioners ensuring necessary arrangements. The government remains firm on conducting the exams as planned, despite ongoing protests and legal challenges from aspirants seeking postponement.
