Current Situation and Measures Taken

As of now, there are 38 active cases undergoing treatment or isolation in Telangana. On Saturday, a total of 1,322 samples were tested, and the results of 30 of these are still pending. To ensure preparedness, Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha convened a high-level meeting to review COVID-19 readiness.

During the meeting, the minister instructed health department officials to assess the functionality of ventilators in various hospitals and arrange for the necessary oxygen concentrators required for treating COVID-19 patients. Additionally, he emphasized the need to reoperationalize Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants that are currently not in use in various hospitals.

RT-PCR Testing Capacity

To enhance testing capabilities, RT-PCR labs have been established in 34 government hospitals and 84 private hospitals across the state. These labs have a combined daily testing capacity of 16,500 samples. In the past two weeks, 6,344 samples have been collected from wards set up in various hospitals, and their test results are eagerly awaited.

Telangana remains vigilant in its efforts to manage the COVID-19 situation. By implementing proactive measures, such as reviewing preparedness, ensuring adequate medical resources, and expanding testing capacity, the state aims to effectively respond to any potential challenges posed by the pandemic.
