Telangana CM Seeks UPSCs Expertise for Transparent Recruitment
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met with UPSC chairperson Manoj Soni to enhance TSPSCs capabilities and ensure impartiality in the recruitment of 2 lakh personnel.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met with Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Chairperson Manoj Soni on Friday, January 5, to discuss the upcoming recruitment of two lakh personnel by December-end. The meeting, which lasted for one and a half hours, focused on strengthening the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) and ensuring a free and fair recruitment process.

Strengthening TSPSC
Chief Minister Reddy expressed his desire to strengthen the TSPSC on the lines of the UPSC. He emphasized the importance of appointing the TSPSC chairperson and members without any political interference and ensuring that the staff is appointed on a permanent basis without irregularities.
UPSC's Support
UPSC Chairperson Soni appreciated the Chief Minister's attention to the job recruitment process and offered to provide training to the TSPSC chairperson, members, and staff in conducting exams in a free and fair manner. Soni also highlighted that the UPSC head and members are recruited without political involvement, with only the merits of the candidates being considered in the selection process.
New Procedures and Methods
Chief Minister Reddy expressed his intention to adopt new procedures and methods in the recruitment process through the TSPSC. He alleged that the previous government had politicized the appointment of TSPSC chairperson and members, leading to the commission becoming a center of political rehabilitation. As a result, question papers for recruitment tests conducted by the TSPSC were leaked in 2023.
Criticism of Previous Government
Reddy criticized the previous government for failing to fill up vacancies due to negligence and incompetence. He highlighted the importance of conducting fair and transparent recruitment processes to ensure that qualified candidates are selected for government positions.
Officials Present
Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and other top officials were also present during the meeting between Chief Minister Reddy and UPSC Chairperson Soni.
The meeting between Chief Minister Reddy and UPSC Chairperson Soni signifies the state government's commitment to strengthening the TSPSC and ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process. By seeking the support of the UPSC and adopting new procedures, the Telangana government aims to improve the quality of public service delivery and provide equal opportunities for all candidates.
