Telangana Declares 'Jaya Jaya He' as Official State Song, Emblem Decision to Follow

In a significant announcement, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy revealed the state government's decision to adopt "Jaya Jaya he Telangana," a composition by renowned poet Ande Sri, as the official state song. This declaration comes amidst controversies stirred by opposition parties BRS and AIMIM regarding the proposed changes to the state emblem, including the removal of Charminar and the Kakatiya dynasty arch. The Chief Minister clarified that no definitive decisions regarding the emblem or the Telangana Talli statue have been made, emphasizing that any final decision will be subject to discussion in the Assembly to prevent misunderstandings or misinformation.

Jaya Jaya He Now Telanganas State Song

The chosen state song, which will be officially released during the grand celebrations of the state formation day on June 2, aims to immortalize the sacrifices made for Telangana's statehood. Ande Sri expressed his pride in his two-decade-old song being selected without alterations, with Oscar-winning music director M.M. Keeravani composing and performing the piece. The decision was finalized in a meeting led by Chief Minister Reddy with prominent figures including state Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad, and other key leaders and activists who contributed to the statehood movement.

The government plans to produce two versions of "Jaya Jaya he Telangana." A concise two-and-a-half-minute version featuring three stanzas will be played at official events, while a full 13-and-a-half-minute rendition will also be recognized as the state song. This initiative is part of broader discussions on changing the state's official emblem and redesigning the Telangana Talli statue, with around 500 proposals from artists across Telangana currently under consideration.

Earlier objections were raised by BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao and AIMIM, who took to social media platform X to voice their concerns over the proposed removal of iconic symbols such as Charminar from the state emblem. They argue that such symbols are integral to Telangana's rich cultural heritage and composite history.

The Chief Minister's assurance that no final decision has been made regarding these changes aims to quell fears and ensure that any alterations to symbols representing Telangana's identity are made with broad consensus and respect for its historical legacy.
