Tejpal to appear before Goa crime branch today

has been asked to appear before the crime branch of

Police at Dona Paula, in Panaji, before 3pm on Thursday.

Tejpal was contacted on email and phone and asked to appear before investigating officer Sunita Sawant, said police.

The young journalist, who alleged that Tejpal sexually assaulted her during Thinkfest in Goa, deposed before the Panaji first-class magistrate. The deposition will be taken as evidence in court.

On Thursday early morning, the magazine's editor Shoma Chowdhury, who had been trying to defend Tehelka in the issue, resigned from her post in the magazine.
