Tejashwi Yadav Alleges Mafia Raj in Bihar Over Paper Leak

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the question paper leak of a teacher recruitment exam in Bihar is evidence of mafia rule under the NDA government, prompting criticism from the BJP.

Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar, alleging that the state is witnessing a "mafia raj" as evidenced by the recent question paper leak in a teacher recruitment examination conducted by the Public Service Commission (PSC). Yadav's remarks drew a sharp response from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with Deputy Chief Minister and state BJP president Samrat Chaudhary hitting back at the RJD leader.

Yadav's Allegations

Yadav asserted that during the RJD's tenure, the Teacher Recruitment Exams (TRE-1 and TRE-2) were conducted without any incidents of paper leaks, and teaching jobs were provided to two lakh aspirants within 70 days. However, he contrasted this with the current situation under the NDA rule, highlighting the alleged leak of the TRE-3 question paper. Yadav further pointed to similar incidents of question paper leaks in other NDA-ruled states such as Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Chaudhary's Response

In response to Yadav's allegations, Chaudhary assured that strict action would be taken against all those involved in the paper leak, labeling them as criminals. He emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and no one will be spared. Chaudhary also reminded Yadav that the state is currently governed by the NDA, not the RJD.

Police Action

The Bihar Police have already detained around 300 aspirants in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district in connection with the alleged question paper leak of the TRE-3. According to the police statement, searches conducted by the Economic Offence Unit in Hazaribagh revealed that aspirants from various parts of Bihar were provided with question papers. Further investigations uncovered that a substantial amount was charged to each candidate for providing answers to the questions.

PSC Recruitment Exam

The Bihar Public Service Commission conducted the offline test for the recruitment of primary and middle school teachers. A total of 96,823 candidates had earlier cleared the TRE-2 organized by the state PSC.

The allegations of paper leaks in the teacher recruitment examination have sparked a political slugfest between the RJD and the BJP in Bihar. As the investigation into the incident continues, the focus remains on ensuring transparency and accountability in the recruitment process to safeguard the interests of aspiring teachers and uphold the integrity of the education system.
