Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal charged with rape by Goa Police

Tejpal has also been slapped with charges of sexual harassment and outraging modesty of a woman, according to the chargesheet against him on Monday. The Goa police, in its chargesheet says that there is sufficient evidence on record to show that Tarun Tejpal had evaded arrest after the complaint.
Tejpal was arrested on November 30, 2013 after his anticipatory bail was rejected by a local court.
A female colleague had alleged that he had raped her in Goa during the ThinkFest. Following this there were a series of mails exchanged between the victim, Tejpal and former Tehelka managing editor Shoma Chaudhury where the victim made these claims. Tejpal has been booked under various sections of the IPC.
He is currently in judicial custody. Tejpal had even denied the charges against him.
