Tehelka case: Hamid Ansari removes Tejpal from Prasar Bharti panel

New Delhi, Nov 22: Vice-president

is among the first ones to act against

editor-in-chief

who is facing sexual assault charges raised by a young journalist in his magazine.

Taking strong cognisance of the allegation,Hamid Ansari has recommended that Tejpal's name must be withdrawn from apanel constituted to look into issues concerning Prasar Bharti.

It was just two days ago that the panel headed by the Vice President, had recommended Tejpal. The committee also includes Press Council of India chairman Justice Markandey Katju and the Information and Broadcasting Secretary.'

Meanwhile Tehelka and Tejpal are trending on social networking sites like Twitter, where people are calling for strong action against Tejpal. Goan police has already started probe into the case and NCW has also started assessing the case.
