Teenager in Kaushambi Attempts Suicide After Alleged Assault by Principal

In a distressing incident from Bharwari Municipal Council, a 15-year-old girl, reportedly a victim of rape by her school principal, attempted to end her life by jumping in front of a goods train. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Kokhraj police station and has since sent shockwaves through the community. The girl, now in a serious condition, is being treated at the district hospital.

The accused, DK Mishra, serves as the principal of Rambali Sharma Saraswati Bal Mandir School. The controversy surrounding Mishra escalated when a video showcasing him in a compromising position with the girl, who hails from a village within the same police station's area, surfaced online. This video became widely circulated on social media platforms four days prior to the tragic suicide attempt.

In response to the viral video, Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Bhanu Bhaskar confirmed the arrest of Raju Singh Lodh, the individual responsible for making the video public. Following an investigation into the content of the video, authorities registered a case against Mishra based on a complaint lodged by the victim's family.

The charges against Mishra are severe and include Section 376 (punishment for rape), Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), Section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), and Section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Additionally, provisions under the Information Technology Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act have been invoked.

To expedite the investigation and ensure swift justice, Circle Officer Sirathu Awadhesh Kumar Vishwakarma has assembled a dedicated team. Vishwakarma revealed that the girl's suicide attempt took place on the Delhi-Howrah railway line last Saturday. Despite being severely injured by the train, she was promptly attended to by police personnel who admitted her to the district hospital for urgent care.

According to family members, the young girl was deeply troubled by the widespread sharing of the video online, which ultimately led to her drastic action. This case has highlighted not only the grave issue of sexual assault but also the damaging impact of cyberbullying and unauthorized dissemination of private videos on social media.

The local authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation to ensure that all individuals responsible are held accountable for their actions. This incident serves as a grim reminder of the challenges and dangers young individuals face in today's digital age, prompting a call for more stringent measures to protect victims and prevent such tragedies in the future.
