Shocking: Techie tested HIV-positive, sets family ablaze; wife, daughters killed
Bhopal, March 11: In a shocking incident in Madhya Pradesh, a techie allegedly had set his family ablaze as they were tested HIV-positive. The 40-year-old techie, who works with a public sector, revealed the incident while speaking to police.
According to the statements of the techie, whose identity has not been revealed for legal concern, he burnt his wife and two daughters to death. However, he claimed that it was not a murder case but it was a failed attempt to commit suicide.

The man said that he along with his wife had planned to commit suicide following a test result of HIV. He said that they were devastated after finding that he and his family were HIV-positive.
He also informed that he had intended to kill himself too but survived as he got out of the blazing vehicle to try and save his children after his wife had a sudden change of heart.
The techie, who hails from Maharashtra, is posted in Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred at Multai town in Betul district, 250 km south of Bhopal, on March 3.
However, brother of the techie's wiferejected his statement and demanded for a proper investigation by Madhya Pradesh Police. The investigating cops brought the techie to police station for questioning.
S K Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Mutali, was quoted as saying, "We shall get a fresh HIV test conducted on him to know the truth. He is being interrogated. He will be produced in court on Wednesday and police remand will be sought."
The engineer said he and his 37-year-old wife had tested positive for HIV about seven months ago. They then got their daughters tested and found they were positive too. Then they decided to commit suicide.
