Techie from Andhra Pradesh raped, killed in Mum; police get 1st lead

Stop Rape
Mumbai, Feb 1: Mumbai Police finally found a lead in the woman techie rape and murder case. Examining a CCTV footage, police informed that the victim Esthar Anuhya was seen with a man de-boarding train at Mumbai Railway Station.

Police claimed that the man, who was seen in the CCTV footage, has been considered as a prime suspect in the case. The investigating cops earlier had detained many auto and taxi drivers suspecting their involvement in the case.

However, police did not find laptop bag of the suspect whose burnt body was found on Jan 16 in Kanjurmarg, eleven days after she went missing.

The man seen in the footage has been considered as prime suspect

Esthar, who hailed from Andhra Pradesh, was an employee of software company -- Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). She had visited her hometown to celebrate Christmas. While returning to Mumbai, she told her father that she would call him back once she reached hostel.

The CCTV footage of the man is a crucial evidence in the case as so far the police had no concrete lead. They had questioned victim's colleagues and even detained several taxi drivers at the station but could not come across any leads in the case. However, she did not call back her father.
