Teacher killed for eloping with woman in UP

Lucknow, April 20: A school teacher was beaten to death by family members of a young woman with whom he eloped, police said on Wednesday, April 20.

The incident occurred in Malihabad, about 25 km from Lucknow, late on Tuesday, April 19.

Raj Kumar, 32, the teacher, used to live with his parents in Gadaho village. He became friendly with the young woman, in her 20s, and eloped with him on Monday, April 18.

Police officer Javed Khan said that a case of murder had been registered against the woman's father, Raja Ram, and her two brothers, Anil and Munish. Police have launched a search for the three.
