TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu Vows Support To NDA

Chandrababu Naidu, the newly elected Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has thanked the voters for their mandate in the recently held Lok Sabha elections. In a statement, Naidu expressed his gratitude to the people for reposing their faith in him and his party.

Not one to be swayed by the winds of fortune, Naidu reaffirmed his party's commitment to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), a coalition of right-wing parties led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Despite the TDP's impressive performance, securing more than 290 seats for the NDA, Naidu was quick to temper his victory with humility.

"I am not arrogant about our victory," Naidu said in a statement. "We will continue to work tirelessly for the people of Andhra Pradesh and the nation, as part of the NDA coalition."

Naidu said that the BJP and the TDP worked together as a united team, without considering who was bigger or smaller. We worked together for all seats, without distinguishing between big and small. We didn't think about personal interests or egos, but rather focused on winning for the sake of the country."

Naidu, TDP supremo, has emerged as a kingmakers in national politics, following a stunning win in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The victory marks a significant turnaround for Naidu, who had faced disappointment in the 2019 polls.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, congratulated NDA's ally on their impressive performance, acknowledging Naidu's newfound influence in national politics. However, it has also been revealed that the Congress-led INDIA bloc has approached Naidu to explore the possibility of his support if they were to stake their claim to form the government.

According to sources, a senior Left leader has also reached out to Naidu with a proposal to play a key role in the INDIA alliance if the situation arises. Meanwhile, NDA leaders have reportedly been in touch with Naidu, offering him the post of Deputy Prime Minister.
