Tarun Tejpal & Sexual Assault: Victim's new statement, setback for BJP

Panaji, Nov 29: The young reporter, who allegedly had become a victim of a sexual assault case involving

, slammed political parties. The news statement of the victim seems to have cornered Bharatiya Janata Party (

). The victim urged political parties including BJP to stay away from the controversial case which currently has become the talk of the town.

"I call upon our political parties to resist the temptation to turn a very important discussion about gender, power and violence into a conversation about themselves," said the victim in a new statement which has been issued on Friday, Nov 29.

In the statement, she also accused Tejpal of raping her. The former reporter of Tehelka hurled serious allegations against the former Editor-in-chief saying, "What Mr Tejpal did to me falls within the legal definition of rape."

Meanwhile, Tejpal left for Goa where police are expected to grill him in connection with the sexual assault case. Tejpal earlier had claimed that legal case against him is nothing but a political conspiracy.

Tejpal, a well-known journalist, claimed that BJP has been taking revenges as he along with his team in Tehelka had exposed several top leaders of the party. BJP held several protests against Tejpal and his associates ever since the shocking allegation of molestation has been hurled against him.
