TN govt files defamation complaint against English daily

Chennai, Feb 12: Tamil Nadu government today filed a defamation complaint in a court here against an English daily over a news report published by it earlier this month.

City Public Prosecutor M L Jegan filed the complaint against the daily on behalf of state Revenue Minister R V Udayakumar in the First Additional Judge court.

The complaint contended that the article captioned 'TN response to flood was slow, says Central Report', published on February 2 last, was defamatory. It has been filed against the editor, printer and publisher and the reporter of the daily.
