Tamil Nadu Governor discusses Cauvery, administration with senior ministers
Chennai, Oct 7: Tamil Nadu Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao on Friday met two senior AIADMK ministers and the state Chief Secretary to discuss the Cauvery water issue and the General Administration in the state in the aftermath of hospitalisation of Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, the Raj Bhavan said.
Finance Minister O. Panneerselvam, Public Works, Highways and Minor Ports Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Chief Secretary P. Rama Mohana Rao met the Governor at the latter's request, the Raj Bhavan said in a statement.

At the meeting, the Governor enquired about the health of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, who was admitted in the Apollo Hospitals on September 22.
The Governor also enquired about the arrangements made for the visit of a high-level central technical committee on the Cauvery water issue and the information to be presented to it so as to protect the interests of the Tamil Nadu farmers.
According to the statement, Palaniswami explained in detail the arrangements made and the related matters.
The Chief Secretary briefed the Governor about the state's administrative affairs being carried out on a day-to-day basis and other general matters.
While the meeting was on, speculation was rife as to the purpose of the meeting since it was called a day after the Apollo Hospitals said Jayalalithaa will require a longer stay at the hospital.
