Tamil Nadu: Explosion in fireworks unit leaves 2 dead

The injured have been admitted to the government hospital , where the condition of one of them is stated to be critical.

Pudukottai (TN) Jan 1: Two workers were killed and five others injured in a blast on Sunday at a fireworks unit at Keezha Nilai Kottai in Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu, police said.

The injured have been admitted to the government hospital , where the condition of one of them is stated to be critical.

Fire tenders from in and around the town rushed to the spot and doused the flames after a two-hour operation, they said. The unit was making fireworks for temple festivals, police said, adding the cause of the blast is being ascertained.
