Tamil Nadu: BJP candidate, 30 others injured

While a few party members contemplate that the attacks on them have increased on BJP-led NDA just after the announcement of the general elections.
Attacks on BJP are alleged to have increased after the announcement of LS polls.
Bharatiya Janata Party state president Pon. Radhakrishnan said that the attck took place in Mallipattinam in Thanjavur district, which is around 320 kilometers from Chennai. He also blamed the police saying that the party had sought the permission from police for carrying out the campaign, but they did not provide sufficient security.
He also urged the authorities to take preventive action in future as campaigning during elections is considered a democratic right.
Meanwhile PMK leader, Ambumani Ramadoss said that he himself was attacked while campaigning. He urged the Election Commission and the police to take action against the attackers and also increase the security of the NDA candidates.
