Tamil Actor Vishal Alleges Corruption In CBFC For Mark Antony's Hindi Version
Tamil actor-producer Vishal has made alarming allegations against the Central Bureau of Film Certification (CBFC) Mumbai office, claiming that they demanded a bribe of Rs 6.5 lakh in exchange for Hindi censor rights for his latest film, 'Mark Antony.'
With plans to release a Hindi-dubbed version of the film, the situation took an unexpected turn when Vishal took to social media to expose the alleged extortion.

On Thursday, September 28, Vishal shared a video in which he detailed the issue and accompanied it with an extended caption, expressing his concerns about corruption within government offices. He wrote, "#Corruption being shown on the silver screen is fine. But not in real life. Can't digest, especially in government offices. Even worse is happening in #CBFC Mumbai office. I had to pay 6.5 lakhs for my film #MarkAntonyHindi version - 2 transactions, 3 lakhs for screening and 3.5 lakhs for a certificate. I've never faced this situation in my entire career."
Vishal continued by explaining that he felt he had no choice but to comply with the demands due to the film's release being at stake. He acknowledged paying the intermediary, Menaga, but was compelled to bring the matter to the attention of the Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for the sake of future producers.
The actor's concern was not limited to the personal financial loss but extended to the broader issue of corruption. Vishal emphasized that he hoped the truth would prevail, as he posted his evidence for all to see and hear.
Director Adhik Ravichandran's 'Mark Antony,' featuring Vishal and SJ Suryah, is a light-hearted time-travel film centered around gangsters. The movie was released in theaters on September 15 and showcases the cinematography of Abinandhan Ramanujam, with music composed by GV Prakash.
