Swedish skier killed after avalanche hits Gulmarg in Kashmir

One Swedish national was killed in an avalanche that hit Gulmarg hill resort on Apharwat Peak in Jammu and Kashmir. A team of Jammu and Kashmir police rescued another skier from Sweden.
The deceased skier is identified as Daniel from Sweden and another Swedish national, Benjamin was rescued by ski rescue team of the police.
"Two tourists came under the avalanche and one of them was so far evacuated to nearby hospital by the rescuers where he was declared brought dead," he said.

"According to the additional commissioner, Kashmir, avalanche warning exists for avalanche prone areas in Anantnag, Kulgam, Budgam, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora and Ganderbal districts of Kashmir division," an official spokesman told PTI.
