Swati Maliwal went to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, for a medical checkup following the incident. A two-member police team, led by Additional Commissioner of Police P S Kushwaha, recorded her statement at her residence at around 1:50 PM on Thursday.

In her statement, Maliwal described how she was sitting in Kejriwal's drawing room when Bibhav Kumar entered and assaulted her. She claimed, according to PTI, that Kejriwal was present in the house at the time.

After giving her statement, Maliwal wrote on X that what happened to her was "extremely bad" and that appropriate action was being taken. She urged the BJP not to politicize the incident and addressed those who accused her of acting on behalf of another party, saying, "God bless them too."

The alleged assault occurred on Monday. Initially, the Delhi Police stated that Maliwal had visited the Civil Lines police station, accused Kumar of assault, and left without filing a formal complaint.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh confirmed that the incident occurred in Kejriwal's drawing room and assured that the chief minister had taken note of it and appropriate action would follow.

At a joint INDIA bloc press conference, Arvind Kejriwal avoided questions about Maliwal's allegations.

Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia claimed that Bibhav Kumar was seen with Arvind Kejriwal in Lucknow and labeled the Delhi CM a goon. The National Commission for Women has summoned Bibhav Kumar in connection with the incident.

ANI reported that the Delhi Police Special Cell and Crime Branch teams have been deployed to arrest Kejriwal's aide.
