Swathi murder: Murderer's father demands action against police official
Tirunelveli, July 20: In a fresh twist in the Swathi murder case, Ramkumar's father has lodged a complaint in the Shengottai police station against the Tenkasi police inspector who caught him slitting his throat.
Surprisingly, Ramkumar's father Paramasivam accused police inspector Balamurugan of slitting his son's throat after he headed a team of police officials to nab him on July 1 at around 11:30 pm. He further accused that this was done so that Ramkumar could not speak the truth in the murder of software engineer Swathi at Nungambakkam railway station.

Although Shengottai police received the complaint, it is yet to register an FIR. Meanwhile, Tirunelveli district police superintendent V. Vikraman said that the police had four weeks to lodge the complaint, which however lacks evidence. He said, "The complaint in this case has been received and the complainant was given a receipt. However, an FIR will be registered only after some enquiry as per the Supreme court direction."
