Swathi murder case- Police seek enhanced image of suspect from Hyderabad lab

Hyderabad, July 1: The police investigating the Swathi murder case have sought for an enhanced image of the person who may have committed the murder.

Based on CCTV footage which is not very clear, the police had prepared an image, but since there were no calls from anyone identifying the killer it has been decided that the image would be enhanced.

Swathi

Swathi a techie was brutally murdered at the Nungambakkam railway station. It is alleged that she was stalked before she was killed. The police are yet to zero in on the accused.

Suspicious calls:

The police are trying to ascertain if they can get any details regarding the killer from the call records. Nearly 100 calls are being analysed to find out if there was any suspicious chatter.

The police have been analysing the numbers which were active in the towers around the Nungambakkam railway station on the day of the murder.

A big lead on the case was when the police learnt that the suspect had been spotted at the Choolaimedu High Road. However upon reaching the spot there was no sign of the suspect.

The police however point out that the suspect may have not fled the city. Investigators are however puzzled that despite putting out his photograph based on the CCTV footage none have come forward and given any information.

The police say that this may be because the image is not clear enough. We are sending the image to a lab in Hyderabad and have requested them to enhance the image.

We hope once we have an enhanced image, people will be able to identify him, police officials also say.
