'Swachh Bharat Run' organised at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi, Oct 4: A 'Swachh Bharat Run' was organised at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday.

"The Rashtrapati Bhavan woke up this morning to a 'Swachh Bharat Run'. The run in which around 1,500 people participated was flagged off by President Pranab Mukherjee," a statement from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.

The statement added that the president also joined the participants for a brief stretch.

Participants in the run included officers and staff of the secretariat, the President's Body Guard and Delhi Police, as well as their families.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Oct 2 launched the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', a nation-wide campaign which seeks to clean up the country in five years.
