Faith in Judiciary: SUV Driver's Wife Reacts to Bail in Coaching Centre Case

Manuj Kathuria, the SUV driver involved in the tragic drowning of three students, was granted bail on Thursday. His wife expressed their trust in the judicial system. "We are very happy. Manuj is going to be home. As I said earlier, we have full faith in the judicial system. We have not had the time to process anything in the last five days," Shima Kathuria stated.

SUV Drivers Bail Granted, Wife Trusts Court

Earlier that day, a city court approved Kathuria's bail request, noting that he was implicated with excessive enthusiasm. The prosecution informed the court of their decision to drop the severe charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against him. This development led to his release after spending four days in jail.

Judicial Decision and Charges

Kathuria's counsel, senior advocate Vikas Pahwa, commented on the situation following the court's decision. "It is incredibly disheartening that an innocent man had to endure four days in jail due to an outrageous and unjust arrest, seemingly based on the baseless and imaginative accusations of a police officer," Pahwa remarked.

The incident occurred when Kathuria allegedly drove his Force Gurkha through a rain-flooded street. This action reportedly caused water to breach the gates of a three-storey building housing a coaching centre, leading to the basement's inundation where three students tragically drowned.

Incident Details and Arrest

On Monday, Kathuria was arrested along with four co-owners of the basement and placed in 14-day judicial custody. However, following the court's order on Thursday, he is set to be released on Friday.

The case has drawn significant attention due to its tragic nature and the subsequent legal proceedings. The decision to drop the harsher charge against Kathuria has been a pivotal moment in this case.

The family's relief is palpable as they prepare for Manuj's return home. The judicial system's role in reassessing charges and granting bail has been crucial in this case.

This incident highlights the complexities of legal proceedings and the impact of judicial decisions on individuals' lives. The Kathuria family remains hopeful as they navigate through this challenging time.
