Suspended cop commits suicide

Mainpuri, Sep 9: A sub-inspector of Uttar Pradesh Police, who was earlier suspended for sending a vulgar SMS to a woman, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Mainpuri, the police said on Saturday.

Sub-inspector Radharaman Yadav, 42, was missing for the past two days and yesterday his body was found hanging in the bathroom of his residence, a senior police official said.

The deceased SI was suspended for allegedly sending a vulgar SMS to a woman.

His suspension was later revoked and he was transferred to the Police Lines from Kishni police station (where he was earlier posted), SP Rajesh S told PTI.

The body has been sent for post mortem and a probe is on, he added.
