Sushma Swaraj to meet Nawaz Sharif during two-day Pakistan visit

New Delhi, Dec 8: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif tomorrow during her two-day visit to Pakistan.

Sushma Swaraj is visiting to Islamabad for a "Heart of Asia" security conference.

She will also meet PM's advisor on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad this week, reported the Indian Express.

Sushma Swaraj's Pakistan visit takes place after the National Security Advisers of India and Pakistan met in Thai capital Bangkok on Sunday and "agreed to carry forward the constructive engagement".

The invitation to attend the conference came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif had a brief meeting in Paris during which they warmly held hands before sitting down for a chat, with the Indian side describing the encounter as a "brief exchange of courtesies" but Pakistanis terming it as a "good" meeting.

"EAM @SushmaSwaraj to lead Indian delegation for Heart of Asia 5th Ministerial Meeting on Afghanistan on December 9 in Islamabad," tweeted MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup.
