Bihar's Ex-Dy CM Sushil Kumar Modi's Complete Family Tree Explained
Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Sushil Kumar Modi, passed away at the age of 72 on Monday. In April this year, he had revealed that he was battling cancer and would not contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections due to his health. The mortal remains of the former Rajya Sabha MP will be brought to his residence in Patna's Rajendra Nagar area tomorrow (May 14), and the last rites will be performed later in the day.

Father - Moti Lal Modi: Moti Lal Modi was a respected figure in the community and laid the foundation for Sushil Modi's political career. He was actively involved in social work and played a crucial role in shaping Sushil Modi's values and principles.

- Appointed Commandant by the Civil Defence during the Sino-Indian War of 1962 to train students and civilians in parade and physical fitness.
- Completed a 3-year Officer Training Course (OTC), the highest RSS training course, in 1968.
- Became a Vistarak (full-time worker) of RSS after matriculation, later becoming In-charge of evening branches of RSS Patna Town.
- Despite his family's business in readymade garments, Modi had no interest in the business and always wanted to serve the people.
- Elected as the General Secretary of the Student's Union of Patna University in 1973, alongside Lalu Prasad Yadav as President.
- Arrested 5 times during the JP Movement and Emergency, spending 19 continuous months in jail from June 30, 1975.
